As the ongoing armed conflict in Marawi displaced thousands of individuals, Operation Sagip of ABS-CBN Lingkod Kapamilya Foundation immediately started its relief operations to provide immediate help to the affected families.

10,769 families or 53,845 individuals were already reached by the emergency humanitarian arm of Lingkod Kapamilya.

These families are from the evacuation centers in the municipalities of Pantao Ragat, Balo-i, Misamis Oriental, Iligan, and cities in Cagayan de Oro. Some of them are currently dwelling with their relatives.

The relief efforts for the internally displaced persons in Mindanao affected by the armed crisis in Marawi are executed in partnership with ABS-CBN Regional Network Group in Mindanao, ABS-CBN Integrated News and Current Affairs Team, City Social Welfare and Development (CSWD) of Iligan, Cagayan de Oro, and Marawi, City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (CDRRMO) of Lanao del Sur, Provincial Police Office of Misamis Oriental, Iligan City, and Cagayan de Oro, local Red Cross Staff, Armed Forces of the Philippines, and ALKFI North Mindanao Staff.

1,000 school bags were also distributed to the displaced children who are enrolled in Pantao Ragat and Balo-i, both in Lanao del Norte, as part of our Gusto Kong Mag-aral Campaign. 

Operation Sagip continues its relief operations and it hopes to render aid to more families. The program also plans to create rehabilitation projects in the form of construction of classrooms for children and youth who are affected by the conflict.
