ABS-CBN Lingkod Kapamilya to Start a “Sit-commentary” Show
Proper nutrition for mothers and children is one of ABS-CBN Lingkod Kapamilya’s thrusts. Hence, ABS-CBN Lingkod Kapamilya recently sealed its partnership with the National Nutrition Council (NNC) to produce a situational documentary show for the Filipino families this 2017.

The show’s objective is to educate the mothers on proper nutrition for their growing families. It will highlight the importance of good health in the child’s first 1, 000 days. According to the National Nutrition Council, one out of four pregnant women is nutritionally at risk and 33% of children in the Philippines are stunted or short for their age, due to poor nutrition. Studies show that malnutrition can be prevented in 1, 000 days of the child, a period when parents can bring out their child’s full potential.
“Make sure that the mother is well nourished, breast feeds her baby and should be complemented with an early childhood care development services like health services, immunization, dental and psycho-social stimulation,” said Jovita B. Raval, Nutrition Officer V.
In 2008, NNC initially partnered with ABS-CBN Lingkod Kapamilya through “Busog Lusog: Ang gabay sa wastong nutrisyon” TV program aired on ABS-CBN Channel 2. In 2010, “Why Not” an edu-entertainment program also featured positive eating behaviours for better nutrition.
The new sit-commentary show titled “Rikipedia” will be aired soon on ABS-CBN Channel 2, to promote the importance of first 1, 000 days of a child, health services ,social services to produce a new generation of healthy Filipinos as well as to help reduce the poverty. A weekly family habit show will both entertain and educate the parents and children.
ABS-CBN Lingkod Kapamilya Managing Director Susan B. Afan showed gratitude to NNC for the trust and support to the advocacies of Lingkod Kapamilya.
The show will produce twenty five (25) episodes on the 1st 1000 days of a child with each episode lasting 18 minutes. It will be aired over Lingkod Kapamilya timeslot in ABS-CBN Channel 2 at 8:00am-8:30am, Saturdays.
