NOVEMBER 28-29, 2014 – Phoenix Petroleum officially launched the first ever PINOY TSUPER HERO in Davao City.

In tandem with ABS-CBN Lingkod Kapamilya Foundation, Inc. (ALKFI) and Bayan Academy, Pinoy Tsuper Hero embarks on the quest for a model Filipino driver who promotes family values and protects the environment. The first launching unfolded at Landmark Phoenix Station, Sasa, Davao City.

Aspiring Pinoy Tsuper Heroes can join by visiting selected Phoenix Gas Stations nationwide where nomination forms are available. Drivers, who embody the spirit of leadership and initiative to make a difference in the usual polluted streets, can own the most coveted title, Pinoy Tsuper Hero.

Everyone is also entitled to nominate drivers who deserve to win.

The active engagement of transport groups also ensures that all the drivers in the country have equal chance to join.

"The Pinoy Tsuper Hero team has been consulting with different transport groups to further understand the situation of the transport sector. This is in line with a more comprehensive approach of delivering developmental programs for the families of the drivers," ALKFI Marketing Head Paul Mercado explained.

Ten regional winners will be selected to compete for the Pinoy Tsuper Hero 2015 title. They will receive P40,000 cash prize, P15,000 worth of Phoenix products and a family accident insurance worth P250,000. The grand winner will receive P100,000 cash prize, P50,000 worth of Phoenix products, P1 Million worth of family accident insurance and a tricycle. The top 10 winners of each site will receive a free 3-day training on road safety, defensive and eco-friendly driving courtesy of Bayan Academy.

The idea of a Pinoy Tsuper Hero began when Phoenix Petroleum President & CEO Dennis Uy watched a TV Patrol segment about drivers who could not celebrate Christmas with their family because of duty.

“Pinoy Tsuper Hero is a program that aims to honor both public and private drivers who seem to be underappreciated because they miss a lot of important family occasions just to serve people,” Uy expressed.

“Through Pinoy Tsuper Hero, the drivers and their families have the opportunity to uplift their lives. We, in Phoenix, hope to improve the status of transport sector in the country,” Norman Navarro, Phoenix Assistant Vice-President for Mindanao branch, said.

Pinoy Tsuper Hero was also recently launched in Zamboanga and General Santos. It is also set to launch in the provinces of Bacolod, Cebu, Cavite, Batangas, Pampanga, Bulacan and Manila. Schedule of events will be announced.
