ABS-CBN Foundation is happy to be in partnership with 2GO Travel as it opens more tourism opportunity to a place close to its heart - Sibuyan Island, one of ABS-CBN Foundation's ecotourism destinations.

Ecotourism is the practice of touring natural habitats in a manner meant to minimize ecological impact.

Sibuyan Island which is located in the East of Romblon is notable for being one of the densest and most biodiversed rainforests in the world. It is home to over a hundred uncatalogued endemic species of birds, mammals, reptiles and plants. It is a paradise that is yet to be discovered. Sibuyan has lived in isolation from the rest of the world since its birth. Never in its geological history has it ever been connected with any part of the Philippine archipelago.

"Nurturing and protecting the environment is the path to quality of life," said Ms. Gina Lopez, Managing Director of ABS-CBN Fondation. "The way for the Philippines to go (forward) is to care for the environment. I believe that if we work together, we can make a difference in this country."

2GO Travel's Odiongan route makes Sibuyan Island more accessible to local and international tourists. It is a wonderful alternative to some of the more known, and often crowded, tourists spots. For travelers who would visit Boracay through Caticlan, 2GO Travel, born out of established brands such as Negros Navigation, Superferry, Cebu Ferries and Supercat, has a combined history of more than 148 years in the travel industry. It certainly redefines travel as it provide seamless travel experience, with breathtaking destinations, and the luxury of hotel accommodations.

"We hope that this new route would truly open up a lot of opportunities not just for the province of Romblon but for everyone involved. I think this is a win-win partnership," Ms. Trina Firmalo, Chief of Staff of Romblon Governor Eduardo Firmalo. March 10 marks 2GO Travel's maiden voyage to Odiongan, Romblon.

Sealing the partnership are Mr. Dave Pardo, Program Director of Bantay Kalikasan; Mr. Stephen Tagud, VP for Business & Commercial Affairs of 2GO Travel; Ms. Trina Firmalo, Chief of Staff of Gov. Eduardo Firmalo; Ms. Gina Lopez, Managing Director of ABS-CBN Foundation; Ms. Grace Golez, Sales Director of 2GO Travel Rep. Budoy Madrona, Congressman, Lone District of Romblon; and another executive from 2GO Travel.
