ABS-CBN Foundation found a new environment steward - Transworld Customer Service System Philippines (TSI). 300 participants planted Malapapaya seedlings at the La Mesa Watershed and took part in the improvement of facilities at the La Mesa Ecopark. 

“This partnership with Bantay Kalikasan and TSI is on its 2nd year now. We’re actually very excited because this is part of our Customer Relations Services (CRS) activity every year and we’re very excited to come back here for this year,” said Dem Guballa, Director of Operations of TSI.

The inclement weather did not stop them from accomplishing their environmental and community initiative. Armed with their umbrellas, raincoats, and jackets, TSI employees showed enthusiasm and dedication while doing their activities.

“Rain or shine, we actually planned on really going no matter what happens. So now it’s raining, but it’s still a go for us,” Guballa added.

The group assigned at the La Mesa Watershed covered two hectares of land, planting 400 seedlings of Malapapaya, an endemic plant to the Philippines. 

The tree-planting activity is their way to make a difference by giving a greener and cleaner environment to future generations. 

On the other hand, the La Mesa Ecopark group involved themselves in various activities focused on the beautification of its facilities such as repainting the pavilions, varnishing of nipa huts, and the installation of the safety path walk.

Their main goal is to make the park’s facilities look more inviting and comfortable for the visiting public and for future events of La Mesa Ecopark.

The time and effort exerted by the TSI employees play a vital role in preserving the sole watershed of Metro Manila. Showing support in preserving the La Mesa Ecopark and Watershed also means embracing its programs and advocacies.
