Seven Public Schools in Metro Manila Receive Libraries in a Box Big Bad Wolf
Dubbed as the biggest book sale in the world, Big Bad Wolf (BBW) recently held its first book fair in the Philippines, with over 27,000 titles on discounted prices on February 16-25 at the World Trade Center, Pasay City.
According to Miguel Mercado, BBW’s Marketing Head, the prices of the books are cheaper because they want to encourage people, especially the young ones, to go back to reading again. They want to bring back the fun and the romance of reading a book. “By doing so, we are raising more critical thinkers in every nation where the Big Bad Wolf goes,” he explained.

Aside from that advocacy, Big Bad Wolf also had a campaign dubbed as “Library-in-a-Box” where shoppers can shop books that will be given to public schools so they can start their own libraries.
ABS-CBN Lingkod Kapamilya Foundation is one of its beneficiaries. Under ALKFI’s Bantay Kalikasan, seven public schools in Manila will receive these libraries in a box namely, Justo Lukban Elementary School, Epifanio Elementary School, Celedonio Elementary School, Nueve De Pebrero Elementary School, Concepcion Intergrated School, Malanday Elementary School, and Pleasant Hills Elementary School.
The Big Bad Wolf Book Sale originated in Malaysia and has become a regular event as well in Thailand, Indonesia, and Sri Lanka.
