They say that giving makes one rich, and happier in life. Study shows that people who volunteer in a charitable work tend to have a higher level of happiness and contentment than those who do not. Helping boosts one’s confidence, increases one’s sense of empathy and creates long lasting relationships.

The Philippine American Chamber of Commerce of the Metro Washington DC Area, Inc. is a great example that helping makes one richer. They recently donated $3,000 to the Children’s Village – the halfway home for the rescued children of Bantay Bata 163.

“We have to teach these children the value of life. I think it’s very important for us to support them.” shared by Katrina Lim, their representative.

Together with Katrina Lim is her mother, Cong. Lorna Silverio of 3rd District, Bulacan. She also donated two 50” LED Backlight Television for the kids of Children’s Village.

“It is a pity if they are not given a chance to live in an environment conducive for growing up, complete with the right values,”expressed by Silverio. She also committed to continuously support Bantay Bata 163’s programs and services.

Through your help, Bantay Bata 163 can reach more children in need of love and protection. You may report, donate or volunteer by calling hotline 1-6-3 or by visiting its website,

Together, we can make a difference in every child’s life.
