They said that it takes a village to raise a child. It is everyone’s responsibility to take good care of these children. As part of its responsibility, one must protect them from violence so that they will become productive citizens of the country.

ABS-CBN Lingkod Kapamilya’s child welfare program, Bantay Bata 163-Laguna celebrated the 26th National Children’s Month at Southville 7 Covered Court in Calauan, Laguna.

In line with its theme “Isulong: Tamang Pag-aaruga sa Lahat ng Bata”, Bantay Bata 163 Laguna staff and other public officials present in the event discussed how children are vulnerable and prone to abuse. They also discussed how child can protect themselves and who can help them when they are experiencing abuse.

Knowing that every child has a right to play and express themselves, Bantay Bata 163 Laguna conducted series of activities for the children. Two hundred children from selected areas of Bay, Laguna ages 6-12 years old participated in the event.

“We are supporting Bantay Bata 163 because we believe that each child should be given care and attention. It is important to celebrate this event in order to recognize the value of these children, as well as their rights,” shared by Andrea Sedurifa, owner of Metal Trend Enterprises.

Aside from having fun time playing, the kids had a chance to build new friendships with other kids. They also received school supplies, stuffed toys, packed lunch, and bread treats from Gardenia Bakeries Philippines, Inc.
