La Mesa Watershed and Ecopark Share Experiences to the Zamboanga City Water District
The Zamboanga City Water District (ZCWD) visited both La Mesa Watershed and La Mesa Ecopark to learn from each other and see how best practices can be shared and replicated. ZCWD manages over 12,000ha of watershed area.
The La Mesa team facilitated a whole day visit composed of tours in key areas. Part of the sharing was discussing the history of the Save the La Mesa Watershed project, the experiences, challenges, current operations, and accomplishments while implementing the project.
The visitors and the La Mesa team were both inspired to continue to improve the services they provide.

Members of the Social Action Center of Ateneo de Zamboanga also joined ZCWD.
Like in the story of La Mesa, Bantay Kalikasan believes that transformations can be achieved with partnerships and collaboration from various sectors of society.
Former DENR Secretary, Gina Lopez also participated in the event to give her own insights on the project.
Lopez started the Save the La Mesa Watershed project 15 years ago.
