DENSO Philippines Corporation joins Bantay Kalikasan’s Initiatives

DENSO Philippines Corporation, a company that manufactures automotive components, recently signed an agreement with ABS-CBN Lingkod Kapamilya Foundation-Bantay Kalikasan’s Bantay Langis and Bantay Baterya projects. Through the agreement, DENSO Philippines Corporation will donate their used oils, used solvent, and used lead-acid batteries to Bantay Kalikasan’s recycling partners Genetron International Marketing and Oriental & Motolite Marketing Corporation. The monetary value of the recycled hazardous wastes will be donated to Bantay Kalikasan which will be used to support its advocacies in 14 sites.

The MOA Signing was headed by DENSO Philippines' President Yuji Yamamoto, DENSO Philippines' Vice President/Plant Manager Mutsumi Furuhashi, DENSO Philippines' SHE Assistant Manager/Managing Head, Cesar Concibido, DENSO Philippines' SHE Team Leader/Pollution Control Officer, Kea Micole Eliz Maristela and ALKFI's Chief of Staff/OIC of Managing Director's Office Josine Reyes. Together with them are DENSO Philippines' SHE Expert/Pollution Control Officer Erikka Quiñola, ALKFI's Senior Marketing Officer Sherwin Hinlo, Oriental & Motolite Marketing Corporation's ULAB Supervisor Rita Regalado, and PEZA Zone Manager Atty. Romeo Corporal.

According to DENSO Philippines Corporation’s SHE Team Leader/ Pollution Control Officer and the Project Leader herself, Ms. Kea Micole Eliz S. Maristela, “The partnership, more than a Kaizen activity for our company’s benefit & CSR activity for environmental protection and sustainable development is DENSO Philippines Corporation’s way of giving back to the environment for everything that it has generously provided us. As stewards of the Earth, it is our duty to hand down to the next generation our natural resources undiminished of its value. It a great privilege on our side to be able to take part in protecting God’s creation. I call on other companies and to my fellow Pollution Control Officers out there, let’s all be the voice of our planet.”
