Brighter future through education
“Marami pong mga kabataan ang hindi nakakapag-aral at ako po na may opportunity, dapat mas pahalagahan ko po ito”, said Lordy Ann Sarmiento, Bantay Edukasyon scholar.
She has no sense of direction and clueless of her future. This is how she describes her life before she became a scholar. Now, 19-year-old Lordy Ann sees a ray of hope for her future. She is a scholar for 8 years now under Bantay Edukasyon- the educational assistance of Bantay Bata 163. Now, she is on her way of making her dream a reality of becoming a licensed Librarian.
Lordy Ann is one of the 107 scholars under Bantay Edukasyon-Manila who were present in the recent Bantay Edukasyon Opening Assembly for school year 2019-2020. The assembly serves as a venue for the partners and donors to meet the scholars – an opportunity for the scholars to show gratitude.
“Bantay Bata 163 will always be committed to help the government in promoting access to quality education and inclusive development, especially for our poor families.”said Jacel Paguio, Bantay Bata 163 Operations Manager
Bantay Bata 163 will not be able to fulfill their mission if not for its generous donors, like Philippine Soong Ching Ling Foundation who also joined the opening assembly.
Bantay Bata 163 would like to thank the generosity of the following donors who extended help during the opening assembly:
Philippine Soong Ching Ling Foundation
McDonald’s House of Charity
